' MILESTONES 1, 1988 Golda Soffe Brown Honored On 80th Birthday The children of Golda Soffe Brown are inviting friends and family to an open house on September 2nd in honor of her Business and Professional Womens Club. For two of those years, she served as President and State Chairwoman and was a member of the Womens State Legislative Council for two bienniums the representing Murray Business and Profession- 80th birthday. The event will be held at the Mun-a21st ward, 6100 South Main, between the hours of 6:00 and 8:00 p.m. y al Womens Group. She was secretary for the Utah State Shade Tree Commission and the Murray Shade Tree Commission concurrently for two years. A tree was planted in the Murray Park Arboretum in her honor. She has been a member of the Daughters of the Utah Pioneers for 12 years and is a charter Golda was born September 2, 1908 in South Jordan to Harold and Grace Holt Soffe. She was the eldest of six children and attended schools in South Jordan, graduating from Jordan high and Jordan LDS Seminary in Sandy. She married Viles Brown on August 24, 1927 and they became the parents of four children. He passed away on March 21, 1983. Trevor Allen Collings Trevor Allen Collings has accepted a call to serve an LDS mission to Anaheim, California and will enter the training center on September 14th. His farewell meeting was held in the Taylorsville 24th ward on Sunday, August 28th, and friends and family were greeted at the family home that evening. Trevor is the son of Mr. and Mrs. Allen C. Collings, West Valley City, and the grandson of Mr. and Mrs. Fred L. Collings and Mrs. Harvey M. Henline, of Magna. He is a graduate of Granger high school. member of the Artistic Designers club and is a nationally accredited Life Flower Judge for which she has attended six schools and two Golda has been organist for many organizations in the South Jordan and Murray wards and has been a member of many clubs and in the organizations Robert community. Feddersen MISSIONARIES Tim Taney Homecoming Tim Taney is returning home after serving an LDS mission in the southern area of Santiago, Chile. His report meeting will be held in the Taylorsville 22nd ward, 1500 W. 4800 South at 10:40 a.m. on Sunday, September The returning missionary is the son of James and Connie Taney of Taylorsville. His grandparents are Mr. and Mrs. O. Virgil Steadman, Taylorsville, and JoAnn Taney of Kearns. He served as a District leader, Zone leader, and Assistant to the President in the mission field. He is planning to return to Utah State University on the President Leadership Council. Mr. and Mrs. Gordon J. Chidester of Kearns are announcing the engagement of their daughter, Sherrie Ann Chidester. She wall become the bride of Michael Craig Feddersen, son of Mr. and Mrs. John II. Fedderson formerly of Houston, Texas, but now in Kansas City, Sherrie is a graduate of Kearn high. The two are planning i November 12 wedding to be heh at the home of the bride.
