MM I mii . .... . . .. - -- - - - Pocket guide is a hit Editor: I would like to thank Andy, Pam, Bill Dickson and everyone involved with putting out the "Pocket Guide to Park City." They are certainly a hit at our hotel. Our guests and tourists who come into the Hotel to browse enjoy reading through the pocket guides and find them very informative. infor-mative. They're also neat souvenirs. .... Thanks again for the wonderful service. Sincerely, Daryle Park Hotel It would be an improvement Editor: I note with interest the letter complaining about the possible future effects of a Fields' Headquarters Head-quarters Building for the additional addi-tional levels of the Swede Alley parking garage. I have only been in Park City for the last 15 years primarily in the months of -winter. But my observation is that almost everything that has been built or improved in that time has been a marked improvement over the way the town looked then. I trust in our town elected officials and professional managers who are doing a fine job of directing the intelligent growth of Park City and expect that this major development of the Fields' interest in-terest will be a credit to the town and provide jobs year round to off set our tourist economy. I hope the Fields build their building, and I for one fully support sup-port their endeavor. Sincerely, Ira Sachs More drove safe and sober Editor: On behalf of the Summit County Coun-ty Prevention Center, I would like to express by appreciation to Albertson's, KPCW, The Park Record, Bodell Design Studio and their staffs for their cooperation, support and involvement with National Drunk and Driving Awareness Week. By encouraging encourag-ing our community members to drive safe and sober and to remember that they can help prevent pre-vent drunk and drugged driving diasters before they occur, the aforementioned businesses helped to reduce holiday tragedies in our county. The Prevention Center applauds ap-plauds Albertson's, KPCW, The Park Record, Bodell Design 1 A V A V 35650 So. Studio, and their staffs for their contributions to this worthwhile campaign. Businesses such as these are truly "community-identified" "community-identified" and have helped to ensure en-sure a safer, happier holiday season for all! Drive safe and sober is sound advice anytime of the year. Thanks to all who made the commitment to drive safe and sober. Thanks for caring! Happy New Year! Sincerely, Carrie E. Cox "Remember the Alamo?" Editor: I'm appalled at the action being contemplated by Park City's City Council against the Alamo. If the passing of drugs, unbeknownst to the management, amongst patrons or even employees is sufficient suf-ficient criterion for shutting down a legitimate business, then nearly near-ly every business and nearly every school in this country would be shut down. Making innocent inno-cent people responsible for the behavior of others is reprehensible. reprehensi-ble. I would hope the courts would prevent this radical approach by the city council. If not, the phrase "Remember the Alamo" would take on new and sinister connotations con-notations for Park City residents and visitors. Sincerely, James T. Call Can we talk? Editor: Two questions about Park City vs. The Alamo and The Club: Is this Christiansen Mormon? and Who's Bronstein's attorney? Long live The Club and The Alamo!!! Sincerely, David Lehman Well worth the effort Editor: We want to thank the Park Record, Channel 45, KPCW, and the dozens of local businesses who supported and contributed to the Park City Marching Band's trip to the Freedom Bowl Festival. Like all of you we were disappointed at the total lack of television coverage, especially when we had been promised something quite different and especially in that the possiblity of coverage was supplanted with irrelevant ir-relevant announcer patter and 13 minutes of advertising.
