George Mann, former Davis county sheriff, was seriously injured about noon Sunday when the car in which he was riding, driven by Wilford C. Wood, was struck by a truck driven by Ellis Rebbr, of St. George, on thestatq .highway south of here. The Wood car was traveling south, and the truck was going north, and after an investigation of the accident sheriff's officers arrested Reber and lodged him in the Davis county jail pending the of Mr. Manns injuries. He was later released on cash bonds of $500.00, to appear for trial before Justice of- Peace J. D. Wood on charges of reckless driving. Also in the car with Mr. Wood and Mr. Mann were Mrs. Wood and two daughters, Leilah 13 and Mary Alice-15.,Mr. Mann suffered a severe scalp laceration, severance o f several tendons in his right hands serious bruises.
