AND MRS. WILLIAM F. HANSON were hosts to CP A a JJ 1 A. T- ' J ! A- xzo guests at a wecming- reception rriuay evening at their residence, the smart affair being tendered their daughter daugh-ter Elma, and Henry H. Falkner, son of Mr. and Mrs. Henry Falkner of Provo, who were united in marriage in the Salt Lake temple earlier in the day. In the receiving line were Prof, and Mrs. Hanson, Mr. and Mrs. Falkner, parents of the couple, the bride and -: XT T T . , ', A X" U -.,-..- TV T ; Cntinn X7Vlif taker and the Misses Ruth and lone Falkner, sisters of the groom, bridesmaids, and Clyde Ward, best man. The bride wore an elegant gown of white chiffon and a flowing white net veil attached to a dainty cap, held in place with a band of orange blossoms and ribbon. She carried a beautiful beauti-ful bouquet of p:nk roses and i sweet peas tied with maline. j Miss Hanson's frock was of j green organdie, Miss Whitaker was i in rose and gold flowered chiffon, and the Misses Falkners wore yel- j low organdie dresses with green j satin sashes. Their bouquets were of pink sweet peas tied with pink maline. Garden flowers were tastefully arranged in baskets and vases throughout the reception rooms. Music was furnished by a string trio, composed of the Misses Lota Paxman, Ann Clayson and Edith Young. Helen Rae and Laddie Hanson and Virginia Olsen sang, and vocal solos were rendered by Carl Christensen of New York and Harry Lindley. i'rof. Hanson was the accompanist. Dainty refreshments were served serv-ed from a table covered with a handsome ecru lace cloth over pink. Pink tapers were in crystal holders and the centerpiece was a large cut glass bowl of pin!: loses. Mrs. L. A. Atten of- Vernal, an aunt of the .bride, presided at, the refreshment table. The wedding gifts were beautiful. beauti-ful. Mr. and Mrs. Falkner. accompanied accom-panied by Prof, and Mrs. Hanson, left by car Saturday morning for a trip through th'e northwest to Portland, Ore., and down the coat to San Francisco and Los Angeles. Calif. They will return home September Sep-tember 15. Club Entertains For Children Members of the L. S. club entertained enter-tained their ch.'fdren Friday after noon in Provo canyon. Games and hiking were features of enjoyment and a weiner roast and melon "bust" followed. Snow was elected president of Chapter No. 3 of the Alice Louise Reynolds club, at a riceting held at her home Friday afternoon. Other officers elected were: Mrs. J. W. GLENGARRY CLASS TUESDAY A social item of special interest is the announcement of the marriage mar-riage of Miss Sarah Wride, daughter daugh-ter of Mrs. Phebe T. Wride and the late Evan Wride of Provo, to A. R. Baker of Provo, son of Mrs. Fidelia E. Baker of St. George. The nuptial event was held in the Salt Lake temple, Friday, Mrs. Wride and Mrs. Baker witnessing the ceremony. A wedding dinner was given .in honor of the newlyweds Friday evening at the home of Mr. and Mrs. Elwyn Wride in American Fork, brother and sister-in-law of the bride. Later, they left for a week's trip to Zion, Bryce and Grand canyons. They will return to Provo to reside. Both have attended the B. Y. U. and Mr. Baker is a graduate of Dixie college in St. George, Mrs. Baker has been employed at Taylor Tay-lor Brot'ners for several years. Young Couple United In Marriage The marriage of Miss Stella Powelson, daughter of Mr. and Mrs. Ellis B. Powelson of Byron, Wyo., and Earl Wignall, son of Mr. and Mrs. C. A. Wigna ol Provo, was solemnized in the Salt Lake temple Wednesday Mr. and Mrs. Arthur L. Gallupi and Harry Dixon accompanied the young couple through the temple and witnessed the ceremony. Later, a dinner at the home of Mrs. J. H. Wood of Salt Lake City, aunt of the groom, honored the couple. Mrs. Wignall, mother of the groom, was also in attendance.
