Show MORMON PIONEER IS DEAD AT OGDEN Special to The Tribune. OGDEN. March 16. William L. Stewart, Stew-art, 70 rears of ase. a pioneer of the state, died at his home, 2451 Taylor avenue, ave-nue, last night after a two years' illness. He was born in Scotland, November HI, 1S46, and came to Utah in 1S54. His father fa-ther died uiinK the journey by ox team ai-ross the plains. After the family had settled in Salt Lake City Mr. Stewart made several trips across the plains as guide for later parties of Mormon emigrants. emi-grants. After his marriasre In 1S72 Mr. Stewart settled in Weber county and resided at Warren and Plain City before moving to Ofrden in 1903. He is survived by his widow, four sons and six daughters. The funetal will be held Sunday afternoon, with services in the Twelfth ward chapel at 1 oclock, Bishop T. B. Wheelwright officiating. Interment will be in Ogden City cemetery. |
