George E. Beach has adopted the scheme to fight weevil of putting a two-by-four on the rake teeth, letting the teeth protrude, and putting a canvas behind; he then drives the horses fast through the field and knocks the weevil ff the plants, some of them falling onto the ground and of course, many into the canvas.
