Show INDIAN HIEROGLYPHICS Those who are interested in Indian Hieroglyphics (I prefer that to the lesser word of Petroglyphs, because Hiero means "Sacred," and "Glyphs" means writing, while Petro simply means Rock; one is a sacred writing depicting in ideagraph something sabred, sa-bred, worth while, close to the. tribal thought, whereas the other is any aind of rock carving, and certainly ihose writings are sacred to the man and succeeding men who carved the rocks with the sacred symbols, full of intense meaning to the uncultured uncultur-ed scribe who wrote in the dim and long ago)' I say, those who arc interested in-terested may see photos in this office, of-fice, and may see the originals in Clear Creek Canyon with only a Utile Ut-ile climb. The subjects depicted in the rock.; are Deer, Medicine Men, ornate in bison horns on head, bear claw fringe ou chest, robes around loins, Arrow Heada, with shafts crossed into it, an emblem probably of the chase,, perfect Bear's Paws, narrow at heel and spreading toes, each with five dots to represent the five toes, and plenty of other taings that you let your imagination wrestle with to your hart's content. These" are very interesting. W. W. Spears, head of the firm which haudled the drainage bonds for District No. 3, and Attorney O. P. Soule, are Delta visitors this week. During each day, at some time in ihe twenty four hours, it rained on this trip; but the discomfort wa: .nore than made up by the beauti-i'ul beauti-i'ul clouds following, which photographers photog-raphers live for, and at the tight : ,)f one, "A Cloud!
