Show ; IF Industrial Agent Douglas White of the Salt Lake Route is not disappointed in his ambition, he should ere this have an automobile with its front wheels over the brink of Zion Canyon, via the Cedar and Kanarra mountains. With a moving mov-ing picture operator and machine, and a light car already extensively used for this class of work. bancked up by one or more teams, Mr. White and party, With Mr. Richard A. Thorley of this place acting as guide, started the ascent of the mountain road last Wednesday morning. The mountain is an extremely difficult climb, and the country to be traversed is rough and never before tackled by a motor vehicle, but Mr. White was determined to put the car to the top of the canyon, come what might, and such determination can hardly know anything but success. If this attempt proves that the route is at all feasible, it will doubtless lead to the construction of an auto highway which will enable the tourist to see Zion Canyon from the brink. Another move is on foot, sunported by Mr. White and the Salt Lake Route, to have the canyon to the west of Zion, included in the monument, or designated as a national park, which it is richly entitled to become. |
