The thieves did not damage the lock nor tank and apparently ihad only taken a small quantity of gas. Tuesday DeRell Litster, manager of the Central Garage, received a crisp one letter containing a dollar bill and thirty cents in three cent stamps, which read as follows: "Dear Sir: I am enclosing $1.30 for the gas those thieves stole from you last Sunday right. I took three gallons and another man took the other two. I don't rnow the other fellow. I didn't like to take your gas but we couldn't raise you and we couldn't go any further as we were out of gas. Jewkfes, Jr., head of the County Welfare Board, reports that eighteen boys from Emery county have enlisted in the C. C. C. In response to a call for new enrollees. The boys were taken to the Ferron camp Friday, where they will probably be retained. The quota for Emery county in the recent order was set at 25 men. However, to date, the local board has been unable to secure the required number.
