Show Open House cReception To Honor Couple 1869, a daughter of William and Sarah E. Oates Clegg. She spent most of her girlhood in Springville, where she received her education. She has always been interested in dramatic and musical activities. She went with her husband to many of the early-day railrad construction con-struction camps and she has taken an active part in community and church affairs. She has served as a visiting teacher in Relief Society many years and is also a member of Camp Kolob D.U.P. . The couple are parents of six sons and daughters, with four living. liv-ing. They are M. Oscar Boyer, Harlan Boyer and Mrs. Thelma Carter of Springville and Glen S. Boyer of Salt Lake City. They also have fourteen grandchildren and four great grandchildren. Mr. and Mrs. Myron A. Boyer, well known residents of Springville, Spring-ville, will be honored with an open house reception commemmorating their golden wedding anniversary Sunday from 3 until 6 p. m., at the home of their son, Harlan Boyer, 707 South Fourth East street. An invitation, is extended to their relatives rela-tives and friends to call at this time. The couple were married March 1, 1893, in the Manti temple and have made their home here always. al-ways. Mr. Boyer was born in Springville Spring-ville December 27, 1868, a son of John S. and Julia A. Crandall Boyer. Boy-er. His early life was spent in farming, stock raising, hauling wood and coal from nearby mountains, moun-tains, and following other pursuits in connection with the building of this community. He was educated in the Springville Spring-ville schools and spent two winters attending the Brigham Young college col-lege at the U.S.A.C. at Logan. He became associated with his brothers, Ernest, Lee and Wayne Boyer, in railroad contracting and assisted in building railroad grades in Idaho, Nevada, California, Colorado Col-orado and Utah. He was one of the five men who originated the Springville Canning company in 1904, the company having been formed with an idea of creating a market for local products pro-ducts and for building an industry which would benefit the people of this community. He retained an active interest in the canning company com-pany for many years and served as superintendent for some time. He purchased a farm just east of Springville in 1916, and operated operat-ed the farm until 1941, when they moved to their present home on Fifth East and Seventh South street. He was superintendent of the Y.M.M.I.A. in his early married life and was later superintendent of the Sunday school. He acted as clerk of the Springville First ward 25 years and was released in 1936. He has been a Sunday school instructor in-structor 30 years and is still serving serv-ing in this capacity. Mrs. Eliza Clegg Boyer was born in Springville December 26, |
