Put it down, this is the final war, I the Armageddon, 'The battle of the great day.' Suchisthe truth The world we have known is passing out in order that there may be ushered in a New World, a New Order, such as Tennyson visioned when he said: "When all men's good shall be each man's rule, and universal peace lie like a shaft of light upon the land." This war is on the program of the Almighty It is His war for His purposes and He will win it. They who are against it and give aid and comfort to the enemy are not only unfair to their country but they stand against the estab-lishment of His Kingdom on earth. The causes of the war are the sins of men and nations, the stubborn rebellion against the laws of the Creator. The aims of the Great Ruler are to wipe out thes ' sins and clear the way for something better, that the Kingdom may be established. Any sane man wants peace, but there cannot be peace in the world until this war is won. Then there will come that long-look- for Millennial reign. The struggle will not only be the end of war for all time but it will also mean the end of the Babylonic systems of ecclesiastieism and economics, as told in chapter 18 of the Book of Revelations. The war will run its course and end, as the scriptures say, when the nations will be gathered at Armageddon There the Beast and the kings of the earth and their armies will make their last stand against Him and the Israel nations, and when these appear to be completely vanquished their enemies will suddenly face t ie wrath of the King of Kings returned to earth. He and the host He will bring with him, together with great convulsions of nature, will finish the fight and give war its death blow, and men shall no longer kill and destroy but buiid the New Earth. Editorials (CONTINUED) This Should Affect All Humanity For ages there has been before the world the one and only pkn that will save it and cure al! its ills. It is the most impor-tant truth that ever fell from the lips from men or Gods anil is set forth in the most beau iful language the ears have ever heard It is the plan of a "Wanderer," a "Radical" a Dreamer known to history as Jesus of Nazareth. In the few words that he spoke lies the remedy for all human ills ills of government ills of economics, ills of finance, ills of society, in fact a remedy for every form of inharmony from which humanity so greatly suffers. May we do our bit to keep this before the people because it is the only hope. All other plans must give way to this one. You may safely stake your all on Ibis plan. It will save humanity here and now and nothing else will. ' American Supplies Flow Into Africa fx-- , ILL? ""I " t-- it?.. . "J' " sn i The long arm of American production reaches out to East Africa, to what once was a part of Italy's East African empire, and dumps cargo after cargo of vital supplies for the United Nations at the great supply base established there. Above is scene at the unloading depot. Soon these trucks will be working against the Axis in Libya or elsewhere in the Middle East. I Personal Items You needn't be afraid of the crowds, brother; the three or four who paid have moved out, so just come right in. Some will and some won't. There is no weather quite so cold as is the ingratitude of some of those we have served so long and faithfully. All appeals fail. Lester Wire, an experienced detective, will address the Op en Forum Saturday May 2, at 8 P. M., and he will be worth hearing. You should be there. We will always have good to say for Friend and Neighbor Bertha Jenson, wido of the late Andrew Jenson. She has done us more than one good favor and we ha e found that her heart is always right. All the kind deeds she has perform-ed will ever stand to her credit in the life to come. ' J. A. Mc Carthy of 58 South 2nd West, has been a good Neighbor for some time and he has taken particular pains to remain a neighbor. He must haye bad someponection ilh the auld sod where the sham-rock grows, and he has a right to be proud of that part of heaven which they named Ire-land. We have been strong for the president every moment of his career, but he sure hit us hard when he asked that incomes be limited to $25,000 a year. Now wel l have to reduce our break-fast gruel and the evening's bread and milk. And well know how to sympathize with big bankers, insurance officials motion picture magnates, auto mobile czars and utility giants. Some years ago a man offered us an oil well if the paper would advocate such a proposition as that, but becaube the oil wasnt telined we didn't take it Wing Anderson of California and author of Seven Years that Change the World and two oth-er books was a Visitor at this office Saturday and with him we had an interesting talk ana got some in formal ion He said that ai, the beginning ol the war England cunt rolled tii limes as much t rritory as Gcr many did He also taid tliat a revolution in America Here's a mighty goud oid to anyone who feels Inclined to make contributions to this pa-per: Under the law you may hold out your contribution from your income tax. Roosevelt is the only one of all the pre.-iden- who has descended through both his father and his mother from M.iyilower stock, and that his ancestry, through... seve generations is through English-Yanke- e stock with slight mixtures of French and Dutch. Think of a man being doubly descended from the best stock that ever came to America and then having enemies that list him in a race they wantdestryed 1 Churchill Spends Day With His Troops Stow. ? Winston Churchill recently spent a day inspecting several thousand British fighting men and watched them go through various phases of 'heir training. One of the things that interested the prime minister was ' 'he exercises by troops on the Commando lines, and he is shown here amining a knife used by one of the men with blackened faces who tnok part in the exercises. ADVICE FROM PRES. WILSON Wodrow Wilson, an eminent American executive, states-man, scholar and student of man's advancement through the ages, commenting oq the accepted versions of' the Bible, declared that "every man and woman must realize that the destiny of America lies in their daily perusal of this great book of revelationi that if they would see America free and pure they will n ake their own spirits free and pure by this baptism of the Holy Scripture." READERS OPIKIOIVS (The opinions expressed in this column nrethose of the writers, and are necessarilyconcurred in by the editor and management of this paper.) Editor Progressive Opinion Senator's Thomas and Murdock, of Utah, have proven to be friends to the source that controls the destiny of our way of life. If such fault finders as Frank R. Kent had his way labor would be subject to slavery. Every article Kent writes is nasty criticism against labor and the greatest man in the world, Franklin D. Roosevelt. If such high paid article wri- - ters had to do the dangerous work as our sailors and munition workers, they would be the first ones to complain about the i long hours and small pay. The nation and state commerce com- - mission companies have never been friend to lai'or, if any one can show tne whsre they have ever been in favor of any humane plan that is beneficial to the under-do- g I would like i toseeit. We have Lavals and Ouislings in our Homeland. The sootier we put them out of commission the better it will be for the welfare ot our nation. R. M.Brandon SAID OF AMERICA. America half-broth- er of the world. Baily. The home of freedom, and the hope of the downtrodden and oppressed among the nations of the earth Street. America is another name for opportunity. Our whole history appears like a last effort of divine Providence in behalf of the human race. Emerson. This is what I call the American idea, a government of the people, by the people, and for the people a government of the principles of eternal justice, the unchanged law of God Theodore Parker. ONLY 6nELIFE TO LIVE Corliss Lamont. I have only one life to live and I want to make it count for social aims that reach don to fundamentals. I do not want to waste my time by helping to bring about little enforc-ements here and there and letting the big things go. I know of few ureater p rsonal tragedies than those of men and women who have devoted their lives to the acheive-ment- s of some ideals only to f nd at the end that they were dealing wit h surface causes and cures. Such are the peace workers who think that war cannot be eliminated by govern-ments formally agreeing to renounce agression. Such are the charity wdrkers who think that, poverty can be overcome by private contributions to the needy. Such are all those who think that depressions can be avoided by tinkering with the capitalist system Attend Pacific War Council Meeting jrcw3iAW-r-- : u) T. V. A stake Sunday School officer said to a class last Sunday that one-thir- of Utah's people are on the census rolls as not belonging to any church. Sixty per cent of the two-third- s be-long to the dominant church and of these only 16 per cent at-tend their meetings and live their religion. We are not among those who believe Salt Lake is one of the wickedest of cities, but we do know that there are dens of iniquity here that would shame the devil, and it is in these dens that beer and liquor undo the work of both church and school for which millions are spent. Personally we would like war to rage with sufficient fury to wipe the liduor traffic from the face of the earth May the good Lord speed the day. They can ration sugar and food and useful materials but they will not cut down the liquror supply.
