Moulton identified nn mereus letters written by Beecher and others, among them one from Mrs. Morse to Beecher asking assistance and promising that the secret of Elizabeth's life sheuld never be mentioned. This Beecher handed witness with the remark that it was a dangerous letter. Witness told assistant pastor Halliday that Beecher was guiltless and Beecher thanked him for doing so They thought Halliday ought not lo have known the facts. In reply to witness' seggestion that Butler be consulted, Beecber said he did not think much of Bugler's moral sense, but he was a wise man aad it would be & (rood idea to consult him. Witness read te Tilton and Beecher separately the statement which be after wards read te the committe, and asked Beecher if it was not honorable for him te make such a statement. Beecher thought it was. Beecher said to witness that be did not wish to see Tilton in his presence. It was a standing rebuke to him and always unnerved him. Adjourned till Monday. Two negroes, Jackson and Jarvis, who murdered Samuel Jones, at Oyster Bay, L.
