It is a position that requires time and interest Time to Section of the Student Body reads: The Treasurer shall initiate action and supervise the drawing up of the S.G.A. budget Hence the Treasurer is responsible to make certain that the budget is not only comprehensive but adequate to cover the Calendar of Events the budget must be balanced. Traditionally, the Calendar of Events has been drawn up of ter the budget has been prepared and approved. This has led to an unavailability of funds, or at least a difficulty in obtaining the funds for student activities which have been included on the Calendar but have not been included in the budget. If elected, I assure you that critical study and revision will be made in this area. 5-- A By-La- make arrangements for different occasions that the vice president is in charge of, and interest to see that all these events are successful. Having served this year in SGAC in the capacity of treasurer, and being familiar with various activities in this organization, I would like the opportunity to serve you again this year. The person taking over this position is president of SOC, (Student Organization Council). This is a unifying body of all organization leads. In the past, SOC has been merely concerned with social events, but I feel that this organization should have more tosay concerning school policies. I dont think that the Secretary can have a platform as such. I feel that as a small liberal arts college that the students of Westminster are capable of meeting the high standards they have set The job of Secretary calls for a hard working person, and because I love Westminster College, I know I would do everything in my power to be one of the best student body secretaries that has ever served. I hope that the voters will see in me, the qualities they want in their secretary, and will choose to elect me because of this. I have participated in the following activities: S.G.A.C., of the Intramural program, V.P. of the Pep Club, Womens Varsity, Parson, Basketball, Mardi Gras, Homecoming and Westminster Players. Co-chairm- an Class: Junior I know that the office of Student Body Treasurer is one of great importance and responsibility. I believe that if I am elected I will be able to handle this responsibility. I have assumed the responsibilities of this position in the past and feel I am fully qualified for this position. I have two basic ideas of which, if I am elected, I will strive to do my best to bring to light For the most part they are concerned with the student lounge and the students of Foster and Hogle Hall. I feel with these ideas and pledging myself to carry on the job which has so successfully been carried on by Tom Mitchell, that I will be able to do the office of Treasurer of the SGAC justice. |
