The Male Animal, by James WC Thurber and Elliot Nugent. Origin of the Name Parsons How did the name Parsons become the nickname of this college? It was a situation of chance or luck. Years ago when Westminster was in its infancy of sports. A sports writer for the leading newspaper put into his article that the opposing teams would not have to worry about the Westminster team. The PARSONS were not the rough type. The,foot-ba- ll team then got together and wrote a letter to him, stating, that he would have to take his hat off to the PARSONS before the year was over. Take his hat off, he did, because they went on to take the conference championship. They felt proud of the name PARSONS, and it has come down from year to year with the same feeling. That is why we are the Westminster Parsons, and should be proud of it. The select cast brings together some of the foremost talent of our present students as well as alumni and others with a good measure of acting experience. Marcia Baldwin, talented member of the freshman class, teams up with Paul Comaby an alum and a new face, on the faculty, in the lead department. Able support is given by Gerald Glanville and Tony Tyler, both gradutes of Westminster. The valuable experience of last years plays is put to good use by Roberta Roberts the star of A Family Portrait, and Cathy Cone returns from Ladies in Retirement to add a share to the talented cast. Others from last year casts include Betty Erickson, who was cast in both plays last season; talented Joan Robinson, Don Farnsworth, Louis Delpierre, Bill Lewis and Rod Number 1 President Palmer Gives His Impressions So Far This Year 9 Students Enjoy & Picnics i Westminsters social activities got off to a rousing start September 16th with a beach party at Great Salt Lake for all freshmen and new students.
