Show STAKE CONFERENCE. The quarterly conference of the St. George Stake of 'ion was held in tin Tabernacle at St. George, on Siinda; and Monday, June 12 and 13, 1S!IS. The choir and eongreation sang the hymn commencing, "Come let usanesv." Prayer was offered by Patriarch R. C. Knell. The choir sang: ''Come O thou King of Kings." Pres. M-cArthur then addressed the assembled Saints, on the object o; isseinbling there; to hear the thing? God wished to impart, which was necessary nec-essary if they wished to enjoy His spirit. The Stake, with slight exceptions, was in good order; the order of God was being be-ing better understood and observed; an improvmcnt was manifest in attendance at meetings. Bore strong' testimony of the power of God evinced in the teachings teach-ings of the Presidency of the Church. The missionary work was being felt among the nations; each missionary that goes hereafter must know that this work is true; the message of the Gospel must be declared in power, the keys of which should be discreetly used. Referred Re-ferred to the calling of sisters upon missions to the world, He felt thankful thank-ful for the peace enjoyed here in the mountains and compared it with earley history of the Church. Pres. J. W. Crosby, of Panguiteh Stake, contrasted educational opportunities oppor-tunities of the present day with the past; improvements were visible everywhere. every-where. Exhorted all to qualify themselves them-selves as Saints of God, to cease evil of every kind; exemplary conduct is required of all. Bishop Ronnow, of Panacea remark-marked remark-marked that the people showed more interest in the Gospel than for some t ime past. Temporal prospects were good; the people were making improvements. Elder Johnson, of Overton, Nevada, gave good reports of Overton and St. Thomas. Bishop Beebe, of Virg in City said the various associations had been active during dur-ing the past season; the M. I, missionaries mission-aries had done much good. Relief Society, Sabath School and ward meetings meet-ings were well attended. Choir sang, "Hark, ten thousand thousand voices." Benediction by James G. Bleak. 2 p. m, Singing, "Come listen to a Prophets voice." Prayer by Patriarch Richard Benfley. Singing, "Ye children of our God." Pres. David II. Cannon had enjoyed remarks made. He referred to subjects sub-jects treated upon at the last General Conference, the necessity of paying financial obligations. The Church indebtedness in-debtedness and causes leading to the same; ample means could lie raised to clear this if the people would honestly pay their tithing. Elder Edward Bunker followed. Ho remarked that he had been a member of the Church for fifty years and rejoiced rejoic-ed to see the progress made in that time, lie had not had a moment of doubt in that, time of the mis-ion of Joseph Smith. Coun. Edward Snow reporting St. George ward, said there were three-hundred three-hundred families, over sixteen-hiinilred population, and sixty seven widims. The institutions of the ward were in excellent condition, all the officers 1 obey the Word of Wisdom and but few children violate it. Tin- corps of P-ae'i-ers are very diligent and progres-; ve.
