The choice for Kearns is yours! What will it be improvement and progress? Or stagnation and decay? Noel L. Payne 5567 So. 4270 West Dear Editor: Perhaps this isnt the right thing to say, , but what other way can a person go about letting the neighbors know, who own dogs, to PLEASE keep their mongrels tied up. I guess many others in my situation will agree wit hme. It seems I cant go on my lawn, without walking all over dog manure. Just because the dogs are licensed that doesnt give them the right to go around messing, on other peoples lawns, more so its very unsanitary and filthy. And enough, is enough. The worst is to have younger children walking all over it, and then tracking it into the house, is more than anyone can take. Dont get me wrong, I like ani- mals, but other people should respect the rights and property of others. Im just plain disgusted and hope that people would consider this, and keep their flea bitten mutts tied up. Mrs. D. C. Valdez 4490 W. 5015 South -- Dear Sir: There has been considerable discussion, both for and against letters to the editor, Kearns was started as a low cost housing development. The income survey by C.D. disproves the low cost hous ing theory. Kearns is out of the bush league. Both in size and population. Kearns isnt a transient town or a motel. This is a permanent town with permanent residents. Take pride in our city. Build it into something we can be proud of. This is .a responsibility we must assume. Regardless of who installs an improvement of this nature, the consumer (or taxpayer), will eventually pay the bill. How many of our residents have thought, as they drove through the streets in their late model cars and passed a church letting out, Why dont these people get out of the streets? I cant help but wonder if these parents dont worry about their small children coming home from school in the dark and walking in the street out of necessity. Where do we put our values? We have heard the statement that sidewalks wouldnt keep children out of the streets. Perhaps not all of them. But most of them will use the sidewalk. I know this is true because I have seen what sidewalks have done for Rose Park. Many parts of that community have waited 10 years for sidewalks. Why should we wait till our children are grown to get sidewalks? Eventually we will have sidewalks, so lets get them now and be enjoying them. Its too bad if people have to tear down walls, etc., but Im sure they .were familiar with the boundaries of their property. sidewalks in Kearns.
