Show Page 4 Thursday, June 4, 1959 THE VALLEY VIEW NEWS Granger High Graduation ass Receives Diplomas Individual members of the Granger High Schools first graduating class were spotlighted momentarily in the center of the stage last Friday evening as they walked forward to receive their diplomas. The Challenge of Tomorrow was the theme of the exercises during which J. Victor Bess and Dr. Burton F. Brasher, president and of the Granite School Board, respectively, presented diplomas to 171 graduates. Student speakers told of the challenge facing those of the graduating class. Talks were short as each class member walked forward and paused in the center of the stage as his or her name was called and then walked down a short ramp to receive a diploma.' vice-preside- Members of the winning team of the tournament are: left to right, Bri Blanchard, Ken Yates, Garth Hales, Bob Roberts and Lowell Nielson. Winners trophy was presented to them by Jim Hodges, commander of the Walker Neal Snyder Post No. 9322 of Kearns. The winning team came up with a high score of 3,088 with handicap. Winners of the Doubles were Lee Winslow and Junior Ball who had a high score of 1,348 with handicap. The Singles division was captured by Jim Heusser. He ran a 723 series with handicap. Wee Lopez Team covered the High Scratch division with 28S1, not with handicap. Pay offs were made this week by mail to the winners of the sponsored by the Walker Neal Snyder Post No. 9322 of Kearns. All-Ve- ts The closing of Relief Society was held May 26th at the Bennion Ward House. After the lesson presented by Ella Steffensen a light lunch was served after which a short program was presented.
