Legal Secretaries Establish Scholarship Fund Seeking to make a "lasting contribution" to the legal profession and spur similar voluntary contributions, the Salt Lake Legal Secretaries Association have established an endowment scholarship fund at the University of Utah. Officers of the Asso cation presented an initial check of $2,000 tQ , University of Utah President Alfred C. Emery in his office. Also present was Dr. Wallace R. Bennett, Assoc. Dean of the College of : Law. Mrs. Macel P. Thurmond, Administrative Assistant to Utah Governor Calvin L. Rampton, and chairman of the scholarship committee, said the money would be utilized by the College of law to assist worthy students. Funds for the scholarship were accumulated over a number of years by the association through the instruction of legal training high school students interested in becoming legal secretaries. These trees were purchased with money won in the Shell Chi Company Contest for Environmental Quality Improvement last year and a contribution from the Sugar-hous- e Chamber of Commerce, Sugarhouse Business & Professional Women's Club, and personal contribution by Mrs. Virginia Benson, and Mrs. Arietta Elton. Beautiful Flowering Crab, Excelsior Ash, and Pine trees are used in a special landscape design by the Highway Department. Green Thumber planted the trees for us. ' This is our observance of Arbor Day. will be held Saturday, April 14, 1973 Our dedication ceremony at the Garden Center, 1602 East 21st South, at 12:30 p.m. Mrs. Elias L. Day, President of the Wasatch Literary Club, will present Mrs. H.A. Elton, Conservation Chairman, who will present the program.
