Ercanbrack) The year 1940 heralds in the Silver Jubilee of the Bee Hive organization. Just a quarter of a century ago thia organization became a part of our Mutual Improvement work. Those first leaders of our M. I. A. felt the need for a special program for the teen-ag- e girl of our church and thus they appealed to Dr. Luther H. SuKck of the Camp-Fir- e Girls of America and also to the leaders of the Gill Scout movement. Their literature was carefully read and reviewed. The ideas were fine but the General Board felt that in addition they would like the definite religious touch which only1 our L. D. S. church could give, bo they decided to organize a similar plan within our church and it was called the Bee Hive depart- stake mission president, thus separating the stake missionary work from the Seventies quorum work In Sharon atako, at tha atako conference held laat Saturday and Sunday, attended by President Antolna R. Not only were these leaders trying to find those things that would improve our Bee Hive girls mind but work also for her hands. So the beautiful story of the bee was selected as symbolic of these girls. They represent those busy little creatures going out into the seven fields of Religion, Home, Health, Arts and Crafts, Out of Doors, Business and Public Service and gathering, as the bee does, the nectar from the flowers, those things which will enrich girlhood, train her for service and promote her faith in God and her love for His Gospel Plan. Now we are celebrating our 25th Anniversary of Bee Hive work. Thia year will be filled to the very brim with new adventures. There has been something delightful planned for every month, including a Fun Feet Buzz in February, a Sunday Evening service for March, a special Swarm Day in April, Summer Camps, Story Festivals, Double Fun Party, Tuesday Assembly program and climaxed in November with a Silver Jubilee Honor Service where the Bee Hive girls and their leaders will be honored. Fathers, mothers, and leaders of Bee Hive girisT" let us do our bit to accomplish the purposes of this special Jubilee year enriching the lives of all Bee Ilive girls, helping them to find true joy in service and keeping them in constant touch with their Heavenly Father.
