Mr. Hutchinson is a lawyer and enjoys an extensive and lucrative practice. He was born in Ohio and graduated from Muskegon college in 1883 and two years later from the law department of Ann Arbor, Mich. He practiced law for eight years at Broken Bow, Neb., and came to Salt Lake in March, 1894, where he has resided since. He has always been a staunch Republican and would make an ideal Councilman. Mr. Hutchinson is married and has four children. 9 11 ent City Council. He is practical and doesnt talk too much and never to the galleries. He has a good level head and is quick to grasp a situation and act on it in a common-sensbusiness way, and he is a Republican through and through. He was nominated to succeed himself as a representative from the Fifth. He began life as a railroad engineer and at the age of 18 enjoyed the distinction of being the youngest engineer on the B. & O. railroad system. He is a man of wide business experience. For many years he was in the oil business, seven with the Standard Oil company, and for four years was auditor of the banking-hous- e of E. Fox & Co. of Chicago. He was also in the real estate business in Kansas City and in San Diego, Cal. He was chief steward at the Midland hotel in Kansas City, and for seven years occupied a similar position at the Knutsford hotel in this city. He resigned to go into the oil business and is now manager of the San Rafael Oil company of Emery county, this State. The voters of the Fifth will make no mistake in returning him as their representative in the Council. business-lik- e, e, THE FATIGUE BACILLUS. GEORGE L. NYE. One of the very best nominations was that of George L. Nye for City Attorney. Mr. Nye is a young man of unblemished character, and a lawyer of acknowledged ability. He has practiced at the bar of this State for nine years and in his professional and private life is without a stain. As first assistant county attorney he made an excellent record and has a large and growing clientel. Mr. Nye was born at De Wit, la., on August 3 1869, and received his early education in the common schools of that place. He received his higher training at Urbana University in Ohio, and graduated from the lawr department of the University of Michigan in 1891. He came to Salt Lake in 1892, and has resided here ever since, n his law 'practice he was associated with Sutherland & Hcwat for two years, and in 1896 was a member of the lower house of the Legislature and distinguished himself in that body. In October, 1898, he married Miss Ethelyn Webber, youngest daughter of Colonel T. G. Webber. He is prominent in political and social circles and has a host of warm friends. No mistake will be made in electing him to the position of City Attorney. u J. of the fatigue bacillus. Ny strom, the present City corder, and the Republican candidate to succeed himself in that office, is a very popular young man He was a member of the Utah battery and fought for his country against the Spaniards in the Philippines In the army he contributed his full share of the glory which the Utah batteries achieved in that war. When the struggle was over he returned to private life and was appointed reputy recorder by Recorder Naylor. On the retirement of Mr Naylor he was appointed by the Mayor and confirmed by the City Council as Recorder, and for a year and a half has conducted the affairs of the office in a thoroughly businesslike way. He is acquainted with every detail of his office, and the records are kept in the most approved style, and always up to date. He is without ques-tio-n one of the very best Recorders the city ever had. There is no doubt of his election.
