Moana Korth Wins Freedom Speech Contest At a contest held last Friday, at the Bear River high school, Moana Korth, daughter of Mrs. Elva Korth. Tremonton, was voted as the winner of the Tremonton Jaycee sponsored Voice of Democracy Contest, from a field of sixteen contestants. Second place went to Margene Pierce, daughter of Mr. and Mrs. Jack Pierce, Garland, and third place was won by Diane Rose, daughter of Mr. ami Mrs. Smith Rose, Tremonton. a Miss Korth will receive radio and a certificate from the Tremonton Jaycees, along with a recording of her speech, for her .accomplishment. The two remaining winners will both receive recordings of their speThe Frank Nielsen family ech. All three will be honored had as Thanksgiving day guests, at a Jaycee banquet, and the Mr. and Mrs. DeVon Wiser and winner's recording will be enfamily and Joseph I. Sponsored annually by the Junior Chamber of Commerce, on a local, state, and national level, the contest is limited to a five minute script on the topic, "I Speak For Democracy", and offers the high school student a chance to speak behind a closed curtain with only the voice being heard by the judges. The contest is judged on speech content, delivery, and originali ity, Jaycee chairman In charge of the local contest was Robert Bennett.
