Retiring Chief Anderson feels that many factors are responsible for this splendid record, such as, increased personnel, the Department has forty four volunteers, a rigid training program, one meeting night per month devoted to training, an inspection program, inspection of business houses and schools, etc., new equipment, educational programs and many other advances in fire control. During the past few years, Tooele has received one of the lowest ratings given by the fire underwriters to a City with a volunteer fire department. In order to achieve this, it was necessary to reorganize the department, have two assistant chiefs and obtain new equipment, set up training schedules and inspection schedules. Chief Anderson and the members of the Tooele Volunteer Department wish to express their appreciation to the citizens of Tooele for their cooperation, one of the factors that is responsible for achieving the low rating and fine record, and solicit the same cooperation for the year 19G;.
