American Fork won both games by scores of 14-- 1 and 11-- 0. Advanced to third base by a one-ou- t, Jake Miles single in the top of the first of the open-ing game, Caveman Zach Haws scored on a steal. Viking pitch-er Gage Peacock held Ameri-can Fork's lead to until the top of the third when a Miles' one-doub- le sparked a three-ru- n stampede for the Cavemen. Even though the Vikings did get singles from Zach Hicken and Matt Larson during the first two innings, Pleasant Grove couldn't pick up run until the bottom of the third. On one out in the bottom of the third, Taylor Stika doubled in Hicken. That turned out to be the only run the Vikings could make in the dou-bleheader. On two outs in the fourth, Danny Beddes scored a run on an error, sparking a five-ru- n ral-ly for the Cavemen. They car-ried out another five-ru- n rally in the fifth to end the game early. Taking a 6-- 0 lead in the sec-ond game's opening inning, the Cavemen racked up 15 hits to win 11-- 0 in the afternoon cap-per. The Vikings got singles from Hicken, Larson and Ty Stevens. In a er division game played at Viking Field July 9, the Skyline Eagles won 5-- 1 over the Vikings. Viking Coach Darren Henry said, "Josh Scoresby pitched really well during the six innings he spent on the bump. We had Dave Stevens throw for us in the seventh." s i 7((l'" Li . !
