FORMER UTAHN Cain was apprehended in Carbon county once after he had fired a sawed-of- f shotgun at William J. Jenkins one night in the New Peerless area when the latter and two companions of Jenkins allegedly caught Cain trying to steal gasoline. One of the companions finally threw a rock at Cain and the latter was hit by the stone and injured to the extent that he was captured by the trio. His took him to Helper and turned him over to George Garavaglia, night policeman there, and Cain reportedly slipped away from the latter after having gone into the washroom on the pretext of washing blood from his face. It is thought that he then went to Grand Junction, officers stating that he did slip back into this area on a number of occasions but always leaving before his presence had been discovered. He is reported to have had several lady friends in this district. The saw- - GRADUATE RECEIVES DAUGHTER, PROMOTION FIRST CLASS RATING ARRIVE SAME DAT FOR SERGEANT FROM PRICE Norman J.
