Coalville Well Child Clink Coalville will be having its second Well Child Ginic on Monday, October 22 from 9am to 10am at the Middle School. at the first Well Child Ginic in Sept, so good, it With the turn-owas decided to have one this month. The clinic is available to well children (we ask that children who are ill see a private physician so as not to exposure others) from birth to school age. The services offered are physical examinations, immunizations, height and weight measurements, health record keeping and health education concerning growth and development, nutrition and feeding, health of children, etc. There will be a $1.00 clinic fee. Hunters will not only have a harder: time getting onto deer in the heavy tree stands but will have to use extreme caution with fires and in seeing that they have properly cooled out their deer to prevent spoilage. j 533-585- 1. at Volume i The deer hunting success for the northern part of Utah should be above the state-wid-e average,' with some of the best hunting coming from the Chalk Creek, Lost Creek and East Canyon areas. Deer numbers are as good as 1978 with some areas being slightly above previous years. The one local deer hunting unit that has shown a good increase in the deer population is the Uintah North Slope area. With the abnormally dry and warm fall, a large part of the deer herd is still inside of Utah. Between July 1974 and July 1979, the cost of living, as measured by the U.S. Dept, of Labor Consumers price index, rose by 47.9. Estimates prepared by the National Education Association show that the 0, average salary paid to classroom teachers in Utah was about 3.9 below the average of the eight Mountain States. In addition to this general salary rise, most teachers in North Summit School District who are Continued on page 2 i On Friday evening the Kamas Utah Stake hosted a banquet to honor the prospective Elders of the Stake. Featured speaker for the evening was Elder Russell M. Ballard, a member of the First Quorum of the Seventy of the LDS Church. The event has been held for the past two years and is likely to become an annual affair. The evening was organized to honor the prospective elders of the Stake at the completion of the past years seminars to help those less active couples gain more knowledge of the Church and become more involved in its activities. Bart Christensen, Max Greenhalgh and Jack Mitchell, the Stake High Council Advisory Committee to the Elders Quorums, planned and directed the activities of the evening. Each Ward Elders Quorum participated by filling separate assignments helping to make the evening a success. The delicious meal was served in the Stake Center Cultural Hall by the Ward Relief Society and young women. Following the meal the large group assembled in the chapel for the program portion of the -- evening. Stake President Thomas 1 E. Brown spoke briefly concerning ; the history and success of the prospective Elders seminars in the Stake and then introduced the ; remainder of the program. Sister Mary Billiter set the mood : for the rest of the evening with two ; n uplifting songs. She was accompanied by Ann Bur-- ; chett. Because of the nature of the gathering, Elder Ballard spoke ; less formally. He drew from many personal experiences ideas and lessons that would help those less ; active members to rekindle an interest in Church activities and -- . well-chose- : -- renew their participation. He ...the measurement of stated, success in this life is how yoti are and feel inside." He also indicated that life should be fun and that happiness comes to those who help others. The evening culminated with another solo by Sister Billiter. The success of the evening will assuredly prompt a repeat ofthe - fc event each year. ; . |
