The appropriation came after an earnest endeavor on the part of members of the Sugar House Business Mens League and residents of the southeast aa well as the parks department to secure the governThe City has agreed to ment aid. furnish materials, including sand gravel, equipment and compensation insurance, while the federal government will supply labor amounting to $69,320. Improvements and construction to come under the appropriation include an underpass under the railroad tracks permitting both automobile and pedestrian entrance to the park from Twenty-thir- d South between Ninth and Tenth East streets; grading a large parking on the northern edge of the property which will furnish parking space fer about 1,000 automobiles; landscaping baseball diamond; terracing the three lakes; improvements of all roadways; landscaping the grotta in the southwest corner of the park and possible construction of a swimming pool.
