A Democratic primary to nominate a justice and constable for Springville Spring-ville precinct was held at the City Hall Tuesday night, October 0th. The primary chose John S. Buyer for justice and A. C. Bird lor constable. Buyer then made a speech of accept ance in which he said if he was elected he would perform the duties of his ofllce to the best of his ability, without with-out regard to political feeling. Then Chairman lloylanee made a few remarks re-marks and the meeting adjourned. The Republicans held a primary to nominate a justice of the peace and constable for Springville precinct, Thursday night, Oct. 2d. J. M. West-wood West-wood was nominated for justice on the second ballot Lute Crandall and Joe Bissell were his opponents. Oscar Mower was selected for constable without opposition. Hatch was nominated as a candidate for Judge of the 4th Judicial District by the Republican Judicial Convention. Judge Hatch Is now lining the vacancy caused by the resignation of E. A. Wilson who was compelled to resign on account of sickness. The Judge has held one term of court in Vernal and is well knowu to the people of Uintah county and has many friends in both of the other parties. We predict a victory for him at the coming election in this county although he was defeated here last year.
