The ceremony was performed per-formed at Mr. Wilkerson's residence on July 4th, Bishop Nephi Packard officiating. A largo number of relatives rela-tives were in attendance. The bride looked lovely tn a brilliant array of cream lace and silk. The happy couple left last Tuesday morning for Clear Creek, when they will spend their honeymoou among the ties. Mrs. William Holmes, mother of Claud Holmes of this city, died in Salt Lake City, last Friday night, and the remains were brought to Spri ng-ville ng-ville for Interment on Monday. The cause of death was gangrene poisoning in the feet. She suffered a great deal and no doubt death was a happy relief re-lief to her. Mrs. Holmes was 73 years old on 16th of last May and was born in Reustram, England. She had been in this country since 1873. A husband, hus-band, oue child aud a host of friends survive her. Todd; Ladies of 177(5, bv Fanny Rowland, was replete with patriotism; Sword of Hunker Hill, peerlessly done by Miss Nellie Holly; Music by the Rand; Speech on Utah, by Mrs. Anderson, full of patriotism, and feminine eloquence; Fifteen minute Speech, responded to by Hugh Dougall, Mayor Deal, and Judge Boycr, who Interested themselves them-selves In eulogizing each other's re marks, and cracking jokes; Sentimental Senti-mental Toasts. The first toaster gloried in that he had served as u private soldier in the army, and as a blue jacket in the Navy. He honored Old Glory above all other earthly things, and predicted that new stars would in time be added to the constellation in its blue field until all earthly governments were turned over into the hands of Immanuel. A small but select crowd gathered at Castilla Saturday to celebrate the glorious day of Independence. Although the crowd was small every jody seemed to have a very pleasant time. The day was spent in bathing, dancing and promenading. The Springville Silver Band enlivened the time with up-to-date selections. The Darton orchestea furnished the music for the dance. The train which the people had to eave ou, came at 11 o'clock and every body made a rush for it. Thus ended a very pleasant day. The Press Association of Utah has the keys to Castilla for the 24th of July, and they and their friends will undoubtedly have a great time. The U. S.
