I Mr. and Mrs. Will Clark returned return-ed the past week from Idaho, where they have spent the summer. They visited with a daughter, Mar-jorie Mar-jorie Clark, in Los Angeles, Calif., before Mr. Clark returned to Mountain Home, Ida., to continue with construction work. Mr. and Mrs. Jack Haycock, former for-mer residents who have spent the past few months in California, have returned to Springville to make their home. Shirley Rothwell, daughter of Mr. and Mrs. Will Rothwell, who is attending the L. D. S. business college, spent the week-end in Springville with relatives. Mrs. C. L. Butler left Thursday for Hollywood, Calif., to visit her I daughter and son-in-law, Mr. and i Mrs. Harold Johnson. ; Mr. and Mrs. I. S. Brown and Mr. i and Mrs. Leo Weight were in Mur-! Mur-! ray Sunday to attend the 97th, ! birthday of Mrs. Brown's mother, i Mrs. Sylvia E. Metcalf, who is vis- itlng with a daughter, Mrs. Carl j Nielson. Mrs. Metcalf is from Gun-; Gun-; nison and is probably the oldest pioneer of that vicinity. She is the ! mother of 15 sons and daughters, j j Mr. and Mrs. Parley Perry and Mrs. Melinda Bird had as their I guests Sunday, Mr. and Mrs. J. H. ! Wood and Mr. and Mrs. A. E. j Wood of Salt Lake City, Mrs. Wan- da Coombs and two children of I Farmington, Mr. and Mrs. Arthur 1 Gallup and daughter, and Mr. and Mrs. Coombs of Provo. I Mrs. Neva Harmer has returned from Alhambra, Calif., where she I was called on account of -the ill- 1 ness of her daughter, Mrs. Erma Anderson. e - 1 Erwin and Larry Bird of Los An- I geles, and Mr. and Mrs. Jess Bird 1 of Salt Lake City, were guests of I Mrs. Myrtle Bird at her home in I Mapleton over the week-end. Mrs. Myrtle Bird and son, Art, 1 have just returned from a visit with Irene and Don Bird in Cali- fornia. Don is in the army air 1 corps. |
