Malone, a preacher f'r a sect and known as Sanctified People, Constable W. J. Moneynoon were shot and killed by a mob Sunday night at Wardell, near Caruthersvllle, Mo. Malone had been proselyting n this county for several months and much feeling bad been aroused against him. A woman named Mrs. Frill having left her husband, caused much agitation recently by living with Malone, who had left his own wife, Mrs. Alice Malone. The preacher's wife objected vigorously to this arrangemout, and Malone declared her Insane and caused her to he detained In Jail pending an Inquiry. Thla acton aroused the citizens to a Issued frenzy and a warrant was against Malone and Mrs. Frill, on the charge of unlawfully living together. Constable Moneyhoan Sunday night arrested both, and because of the lateness of the hour decided not to take them to Caruthersvlllo until morning, but Instead took his prisoners to hla own house for the night. Shortly after midnight there was a knock at the front door and Money-hoo- n opened the door. He was shot dead in the doorway. A mob streamed Into the house and seized Malone, dragging him out Into the darkness. Mrs. Frill frantically begged that no harm be done to him, but she was roughly pushed Inside the house and the mob departed. Malone was taken to a wood some distance away and shot to death. The mob then dispersed. No harm was offered to Mrs. Frill or to Mrs. Money-boo- PRIEST CHARGED WITH MURDER. Is Accused of Beating to Death a Young Girl. Rev. Ferdinand Walser, a Toledo priest, was arrested at Ixirain, O., Saturday, charged with the murder of Miss Agatha Relchlin. Walser was a guest at the Relchlin borne on Thursday night, when the crime was committed. He came to Lorain on Wednesday as a guest at the home of Rev. Charles Relchlin, pastor of St. Joseph's Catholic church in Lorain. The latter was called to Kelleys Island to ofllciate at a funeral late Wednesday. At home he left his ester and housekeeper, Agatha, and a younger brother, Casimlr, to entertain the visiting priest. During the night, according to the story of Rev. Walser, be heard screams from the room occupied by the girl, and declared that he gained the hallway just in time to see a man disappear through an open window. When Caslmr Relchlin reached his Bister's room she was dead, her head having been nearly pounded to a pulp with a rock or some blunt Instrument. Bloodhounds were brought from Fort Wayne, Ind., and given the scent of the murderer. The dogs circled around tbe house several times and finally went to the room occupied by Rev. Walser on the night of the murder. Rev. Walser showed no excitement when placed under arrest, and declared that he was Innocent.
