Show WEDNESDAY, JULY 4, 2007 • B5 Covering what matters most Rotary prepares plaque for SFHS Snack Shack Spanish Fork Rotary is finalizing the donor names for the plaques on the Rotary Snack Shack at Spanish Fork High School. Please take a moment to check your name to see if it is accurate. We would like to get the plaques ordered and installed before the beginning of school. Over $53,000 was raised, plus, many in-kind donations as well as many hours of hard labor. Nebo School . District matched the funds raised for the building. SFHS receives donation Lana Hiskey NEBO DISTRICT Steve Wilson, with State Farm Insurance, donated $500 and then another $250 to support the new score board for the football field at Spanish Fork High through the Nebo Education Foundation. Wilson has been an agent for State Farm Insurance since 1982 here in Spanish Fork. As a 1966 graduate of Spanish Fork High School, he has been honored with the high school's prestigious Outstanding Alumni Award, Booster of the Year and Outstanding Service Award. He has also been honored by the Chamber of Commerce with the Community Action Award as well as the Presidential Award for, Service. Wilson helped organize the high school Booster Club and served as the president for ten years as well as spearheaded the renovation of the football field complex • in 1994. Wilson served for five years as commander of the American Legion Post here in Spanish Fork. The Nebo Education Foundation was organized to bring businesses and donors, just like Steve Wilson with State Farm Insurance, for the benefit of Nebo District school children. The foundation carefully manages and disperses tax deductible donations to local schools. Anyone interested in donating to Nebo District schools, classes or programs can do so through the Nebo Education Foundation. American Legion honors SF student ALL AMERICAN: Taylor Davis, a Spanish Fork home schooled sixth grader, has been awarded the American Legion School Award by Tampa, Fla. Post Commander James Greenhalgh. Although the award is generally awarded to high school boys, Taylor has met all the requirements for this award at this early stage in his scholastic endeavors. Taylor recently finished in the top twenty of the state finals of the National Geographic Bee, sponsored by National Geographic Society. Taylor maintains a 4.0 GPA.
