Show Death and Funeral of Henry Collins. Many of tho long time residents in this city will remember Honry Collins, Esq., a retired Now York merchant, who, from 1873 to 1881, was daily seen upon our streets nnd in business localities. For the last ten years of failing hoalth of body and mind he has found a homo in the beet sense of the word in the family of Samuel Ewing, Esq., of the Cullen house. From Mr. and Mrs. Ewing ho has rocivod the kindest attention atten-tion and caro. Yesterday ho died, and his funernl was set for two o'clock this afternoon. He was a reticent man. Only to his more intimate friends he imparted some foat-uros foat-uros of his past unmarried life, which were most creditable to him, nnd deepened deep-ened their respect for the solf-sacrifioing man. He was a gentleman of pure life, strong convictions and indomitable will, and his memory will be a pleasant one to his friends. He was IU years of ngo and leaves distant kindred in tho eastern states. |
