Show THREE ARE KILLED IN A TRAIN WRECK TOPEKA, Kan., Aug. 23. Three persons were killed shortly after 1 o'clock this morning in a head-end . collision between the Union Pacific freight trains, one and one-half miles east ot Rossvllle, a town ton the Union Pacific, eighteen miles west f Topeka. The Dead: WILLIAM H. GIBSON, engineer. Kansas Kan-sas Cltv. Knn. i OLBSEN, fireman. . CLARENCE REESE, conductor. . The three men killed were members Of the crew of an extra eastbound -wheat train which crashed into the. second section sec-tion of regular westbound 161 at a sham curve. The dead will be brought to this city as rapidly as possible. The local Union Pacific people refuse to give out any Information about the wreck. Two members of the crew of No. 161 are missing, but Roasville reports that' a search of the wreckage reveals only three bodies. Both locomotives were demolished. de-molished. , , . , - |
