Show DEATH OF MRS. CHAS. READ. Snrronnded by Her Husband and Family She Passes Away at 8 O'clock This Morning-. This morning at 8 o'clock, surrounded by her husband and family, MrsfDeseret Wells Read passed from life to death. The deceased lady, for some months, has been in delicate health, but not until last Sunday did her condition appear serious se-rious enough to cause alarm. On Thursday Thurs-day Dr. Bower was summoned to her bedside, and from the commencement of her illness every care and attention has been given her, but she continued rapidly to sink until the hour of her demise. Her trouble, puerperal convulsions, Dr. Bower Bow-er states, is one peculiarly fatal to fe males m as weak a state as the deceased had reached, and her sufferings were of a very acute nature. Deseret Wells Read was a daughter of Daniel H. Wells, and was a lady of remarkable re-markable and refined amiability, and occupied oc-cupied a most enviable position in the affections of her ,friends as well as her family. She was slightly over 32 years of age, and leaves a sweet girl four or five years old to comfort the bereaved husband. hus-band. Mr. Read, whose long residence in Salt Lake City has extended his acquaintance ac-quaintance over nearly the community, will be deeply sympathized with a3 will also the lady's other relatives, the Wells family, several of whom, her father amongst them, are absent in Europe. The arrangements for the funeral were being made to-day and a date will be announced an-nounced to-morrow. |
