Show Obituary Notice The Topeka Kansas Capital of the 2d inst has the following notice of the death of Mrs Kate C Nichols a sister of Deputy Dep-uty U S Marshal D H Bench of this cityThe The exit of so excellent a member of society is worthy of more than a passing occurred Satur notice The sad event notce day February 26th A native of Maryland Mary-land her thirtytwo ears marriage years ago to Mr John Nichols who survives her transferred her to New York near Geneva Gene-va Afterward she returned to her native State residing in Baltimore where her benevolent and Christian work was greatly appreciated Her residence in Kansas dates from their removal hither in 1880 since which time her home has been near Lawrence and last of all herein here-in Topeka She was the only daughter of Mrs Dr Rench formerly of Hagers town a venerable lady of 80 who ti now has resided with her daughter and survives her Mrs Nichols was a woman of unusual qualities of fine presence of remarkable weight and dignity of character charac-ter a wise and zealous worker an unostentatious unos-tentatious and consistent Christian her place will indeed be hard to fill She wa a communicant of the Church of the Good Shepherd and her funeral was attended yesterday by a large number of friends with every mark of sincere sorrow Rev Dr Lee officiating Only one of four brothers in the West is a resident of Topeka Mr Lyman C Rench on Monroe Mon-roe street The remains were sent on to be laid in the family burial place Hagers town Md |
