Show Are Cubs Capable? This year a question has arisen as to whether ' the students of high schools are as responsible as they should be. With world conditions as they are, students seem to have changed with present times. Many teachers think that we of South are less mature this year than in previous years. Mr. Howell thinks that his students have changed little in the last few years but he notices a difference dif-ference between us and the boys and girls of some time back. He also stated that we seem less attentive. Perhaps that is because of the great desire to work or perhaps it is because of outside anxieties caused by the war. He said that we can work wonders if we will only apply ourselves our-selves fully to what is expected of us. According to Miss Martin, we are more mature. ma-ture. She says that we seem to realize the present pres-ent day problems and try to prepare our lives accordingly. This year, as in no other, we need to be responsible. re-sponsible. We are the future leaders of the world and we must be prepared to shoulder the task of making a better world. At all times we must remember our responsibility.and act accordingly. There is no excuse for a generation of people who are unequipped to do the work which is theirs. If we apply ourselves to our school work, we can prove to the teachers that we are capable of the goal set for us to achieve. |
