Atwood, his sons and daughters met at the Lawrence Atwood home in Manila- Tuesday evening, the birthday anniversary of their father. Salt Lake; Mr. and Mrs. John Atwood and family, Charleston; Charles-ton; Ardena Atwood, Bishop and Mrs. Frank D. Atwood and family, fam-ily, Mr. and Mrs. Wesley Beck and family, Bishop and Mrs. Lawrence Atwood' and family. Mrs. T. N. Samuelson of Salt Lake is visiting with her mother Mrs. Eliza Banks. Mrs. Banks, Greene home Thursday were Mrs. Vie Russell. Mr. and Mrs. Frank Linsey and Mrs. Ella Miller of Salt Lake. Pleasant Grove high school faculty members and their partners part-ners held their closing social in American Fork canyon Thursday afternoon. Present were Mr. and Mrs. A. P. Wamick, Mr. and Mrs. H. S. Richards, Mr. and Mrs. E. R. West, Mr. and Mrs. E. A. Beck, Mr. and Mrs. William Partington, Mr. and Mrs. Joseph Day, Ford Paulson, Lyean Johnson, Mrytle Henderson, Karma McGregor, Karma Swindle, Estelle Fenton. Mrs. Blaine Warnick and Ralph who is one of the oldest women , Warnick came from Montana in the community is quite ill. Mr3. Edna Gourley, Provo, is visiting her parents Mr. and Mrs. M. S. Christiansen. Joseph Shoell is very ill. He is at the Fred Shoell home. Wednesday Wed-nesday he was visited by these relatives: Mrs. Lewis Tripp, Mrs. Varion Mortenson, Murray, Mr. and Mrs. Bond Albion. Garfield, Mr. and Mrs. Wilford Robison. Mr. and Mrs. Light Moyer, Salt. Lake. Mrs. E. T. Allen of San Francisco, Fran-cisco, Cal., has been visiting with her sister-in-law, Mrs. J. O. Clark this week. Mrs. Allen was the former for-mer Maxine Clark of Pleasant Grove. Mjs. Rubv Warnick . gave a birthday social for her daughter 'Carol Dawn on Tuesday afternoon. It was tfie maiden's ninth anni versary. Tne O. M. club met at the home of Mrs. Jennie B. Fugal Thursday evening and had a quilting party. Alter the stitching was finished, the hostess served lunch. Present were Mrs. Phyllis H. Larson. Edna 1' ugal. Gene Richins, Mrs. Edna C. Gourley and Edith Preston. Ml, and Mrs. J. K. Allen of Vineyard, Mrs. Rebecca Chassoy of Yost were dinner guests tit the S. W. Hilton home Tuesday. Mr. and Mra. H. W. Jacobs spent Tuesday in Salt Lake. Joseph Olpin of Heber, foimerly of Pleasant Grove was operated on for mastoid the first of the week. He is in a Salt Lake hospital. hos-pital. Two five minute talks will be given by Owen Zobell and Clif ton Clinger. Benediction by Eu gene Cranor. The M. I. A. officers and teach ers of Lake View sponsored a well appointed weiner roast Tuesday evening at the Lake View ball park. Community singing was led by Miss Virginia Taylor, a short program consisting of a readine by LaVern Clinerer and several selections from the Young Men's quartet consisting of Milo Mad en Herbert Johnson, Farron Huff and Richard Taylor. Games were played with Wilford Oveson in charge. Weiners and marsh mallows were roasted and furnished furnish-ed by the sponsors. The meetine will discontinue for the sea-son but socials and entertainment will be held at various times. Those to graduate from the Lincoln high school Thursday eve ning from Lake View 'were the Misses Donna Scott, Donna Davis and Glenda Scott, Herbert John son and Milo Madsen. Work on the remodeling of the chapel is progressing splendidly ana neanng completion. Mr. and Mrs. Herbert Madsen and baby of Salt Lake were visit ing at the home of Mr. Madsen's father Charles Madsen during th week. Mr. and Mrs. William Brown of Magna spent a few days visit msr with Mr. and Mrs. Jesse Sumsion. Mrs. Brown and Mrs. Sumsion are sisters. WelU was the occasion for a pleasant surprise party given by a number of friends at his home Wednesday evening. A tasty luncheon was served at small taoles. 500 was enjoyed during the evening, the ladies favor go ing to Mrs. Clifton Pyne and Elvis Terry receiving the high score for the men. An enjoyable feature of the evening was the opening of the birthday gifts by the guest of honor, some of which proved very humorous and some very nice. Mrs. Nina Stratton and Mrs. Yates sang a duet, Julia Ward Howe's famous soner "The Batle Hymn of the Re- iublic." Mrs. Lois Downs gave a talk on the charm course and Mrs. Mariam Bradshaw sang a solo. "Memories of Galilee." Mr. and Mrs. Rulon Falrboume and children of Salina visited with Mr. and Mrs. C. Wilford Lar son durine the week. Mrs. Julia C. Burr, Mrs. Roy E. Park, Mrs. Earl Mecham. Mrs. Don Clayton and Mrs. Nellie Bullock Bul-lock of Provo went to Salt Lake City Thursday to visit with their brother, Mr. G. M. Burr of Salina and their sister, Mrs. Paul Millet or Orem, who are ill at the L.D.S. hospital. Mrs. Robert J. Jex and daugh ter, Miss Theda Jex and Mrs. Hananh Stewart of Spanish Fork visited with Mr. and Mrs. M. F. Crandall Thursday afternoon. Mrs. Stewart will visit with the Crandall Cran-dall family for two weeks. Mrs. Harold Calder of Provo. Mrs. E. H. Calder and Mrs. Jack Calder visited with Mrs. L. A. Salisbury Wednesday afternoon. While there they completed a quilt which will be given to their mother-in-law, Mrs. Sarah Calder and Jackie Calder winning the prize awards.
