The Giants today's game from the: Yanks the firet shut-ou- t by a 8COre of of the world series this year. .' Jack" Scott pitched a great game. the slugging American holding leaguers to four hits, and never was in serious danger. Hoyt was sent to the mound by Manager Huggins and lasted seven innings when, after the Giants had Bcurea me mira lime, Hovt was yanked from the Yankee, lineup, Sam Jones going to the center of the diamond. Jones held the Na tional leaguers in check for the balance of the afternoon. Jack Scott, picked by Manager McGraw after a carefuL consideration of his hurling staff, dished up ona. of the greatest pitching exhibitions ever witnessed in a world series. He had almost faultless fielding behind him, and was aided by pretty heavy batting, the Giants gathering a doxen tts in then-eigframes. The Yanks got b.ut four hits. , Snyder retired from the job long enough to permit young E. Smith a world series opportunity, a chance the youngster accepted in fine fashion. Schang went behind the plate for the Yanks. The first two innings were score less. In the last of the third the Gaints busted loose with their bats, putting themselves two runs to the; good. But the thousand of Yankee fans kept in mind the manner with which the Yanks climbed from behind yesterday to a tie and hoped for a repetition today, it didn't cpme. Instead, the Giants in added to their collection the third, and for the third day scored three runs. This is the firse time in world series history that a team has scored the same number of runs, three, in three consecutive games. It was announced this afternoon that Nehf and Bush will face each other in tomorrow's game. The outcome of the battle cannot be figured at the present time as this is the first conference gams of the season. The Aggies,, having had years of experience and a wonderful football tradition, are naturally picked as the winner of tomorrow's game. Some there are who are of the opinion that the infants will be completely snowed under by the onslaught of the more" contenders. Others experienced again venture the opinion that if the Aggies are going to win the battle they will have to put in every ounce of energy they have. ' 1UE county has a musial organization second to none in the Btate, the official band of the day should be a Salt Lake organization. Thousands of residents of Utah county were In attendance at the Fair. All of them were anxious to see the Provo band given an opportunity to show ihe people from the entire statejHst what the organization Ja capable of doing. It was with a' great deal of hard feelings that the Utah county residents saw their band refused the privilege of playing some of its concert music from the officail band stand of the s d OF SCHOOL PAPERS fair. It was mentioned freely trf, Tomorrow's captains, Packard, B. Y. U., and -Conroj', U. A. C. It is improbable that the "Yf' team can win, but it will be heralded as a wonderful achievement if the "Y" can hold the Aggies to less than 50 points, and still more wonderful if the "Y" can score. Go to the game ; it'll be worth more than price of admission. -- GIANTS rwn Don Reddish. lowed to take Its place in the regular band stand which was occupied throughout the day by the Salt Lake band.
