A meeting is to be held Thursday evening if Architect Joseph Nelson returns to Pram If Mr. Nelson does not ar rive toy Thursday the meeting will be postponed awaiting Tils coming. Theety and county commissions are to discuss with Mr. Nelson the plans for the finishing touches on the building. The above decision was arrived at following an earnest appeal from s Charles City Commissioner asking that immediate action be taken. Hopkins pointed out that the contractor now is near the finish of his work, and might be per suaded to a" lower bid on the re maining wor kto be done if the bids are asked for while the contractor's equipment is on the ground. "If we wait until the equipment is moved, the costwili be considerable higher," Mr. Hopkins asserted. Commissioner Joseph County Reece called attention to the build ing committee, which, he insisted, should be consulted. Mr. Hopkins maintained that if the Whole committee were called considerable delay would be caused by the large collection of ideas and suggestions. He urged the two commissions first outline the completion plans with the architect. and then submit these plans. to the building committee. Chairman James T. Gardner was Inclined to refer the matter to the building committee before further plans are discussed. Commissioner Charles Wright moved that the city and county commissions take up the matter with Architect Nelson Thursday evening and then submit their decision to the building committee.
