Dr. Eldc-n Beck, recently elected elect-ed president, and the other new officers will be installed, and at the S3 me time. Mrs. J. C. Kindred, prt-sident of the Jaycee Wives, ;nd her officers, will be introduced. intro-duced. Harry J. Olson is chairman on an an;;ement.s for the banquet, and Ed Nicholson, outgoing president, v. HI be master of ceremonies. A program will be presented during the banquet. After the banquet, the closing dunce of the season of the Jaycee Dancing club will be held at the Municipal golf clubhouse. Curt Curtis arid his orchestra will furnish furn-ish the music. Mrs. Vasco Tanner Gives Book Review 'I he Department of Utilities auxiliary met at the home of the president, Mrs. Jcrald Bybee, Wednesday Wed-nesday evening, Mrs. Vasco Tanner Tan-ner giving an unusually splendid review of "Land lie low the Wind," by Agnes Keith. Mrs. By bee presided, and the hostesses were Mrs. Ray Rinder-hagen, Rinder-hagen, Mrs. Vern Whiting, Mrs. Charles Oaks, Mrs. J. V. Taylor and Mrs. William C. Jones. Mrs. William Jones sang two numbers, accompanied by Mrs. D. V. Harwood. During a session of business, Mrs. Robert G. Murray was released re-leased as chairman of the program committee, and it was decided that the hostesses plan their own programs. Bingo was played, Mrs. Cecil Brown and Mrs. J. XV. Taylor winning win-ning the prizes. Delicious refreshments refresh-ments were served to 37 members. HONEY WHOLK KUAN Ml I I INS (Makes PI Muffins) Three-quarter cup milk, 1 cup whole bran shreds, 1 cup sifted flour-, teaspoons double-acting baking powder, ' teaspoon salt, 4 tablespoons honey, 1 egg, well beaten, 3 tablespoons melted butter but-ter or other shortening. Pour milk over bran and let stand 5 minutes. Sift flour once, measure, add baking powder and salt, and sift again. Comllne honey, egg, and butter and add to bran mixture; mix well. Add Hour, beating only enough to dampen all flour. Bake in greased mutlin pans in hot oven (125 degreed de-greed F.) to :;0 minutes. Carter underwent a major operation at the American Fork hospital Thursday. Mrs. Carter reports that he is improving improv-ing as well as can be expected, but will be confined for some time. Miss Elda Pope, daughter of Mr. and Mrs. Orlan Pope, underwent an operation for appendicitis at the Utah Valley hospital Wednesday, Wednes-day, and is reported to be doing well. Mr. and Mrs. Emery Wilson of Tucson, Ariz., visited relatives in Provo Wednesday, returning to their home this morning. Mr. and Mrs. Forest Peterson and son, Jimmy, of El Paso, Texas, have arrived to visit Mrs. Peterson's Peter-son's sister and brother-in-law. Mr. and Mrs. Conrad Jensen, for a week. COMING Founders' Day Banquet Held A delightful affair of Wednesday Wednes-day evening was the annual Founders' Foun-ders' day banquet of the Utah Delta chapter. Beta Sigma Phi, international cultural and social sorority, held at the Edna Mae Hedquist home. . . The tenth anniversary was celebrated cele-brated on this occasion. The banquet ban-quet table was centered with sweet peas, and gold tapers were in silver holders. Miss Crista Olsen of Payson, president, welcomed the young women, and after dinner cards were played. Mrs. Edith R. Godfrey God-frey won high score prize, and Miss Helen McDonald of Payson, a guest, received the second favor. Dainty corsages of 6weet pe.aa and Talisman roses were given as favors.
