Show PAGE TWO PROVO (UTAH) ' D A I L Y HERALD, WEDNESDAY, OCTOBER V,0, SECTION THREE iWAILDLE HERE The Farm Security Arinnmistra-tion Arinnmistra-tion has 970.000 this year to lend needy farmers in l.'tah, to continue the rural rehabilitation program which-has brought an average pain is net worth of 32 per cent, as shown in a recent FSA survey, to each of 4.2.6 previous borrowers in the state. State allocation of the new funds has bern announced yesterday yester-day by Willis R. Dunkley, FSA rehabilitation re-habilitation supervisor in Utah county. Mr. Dunkley said that ample funds are available for either new or supplemental loans to farmers in this county. Standard rural rehabilitation loans are made by Farm Security Administration to farmers .who need tools, feed, seed or other supplies sup-plies and equipment to carry on farming successfully. Money is also available for community and cooperative service loans, which enable groups of farmers to buy heavy machinery or livestock sires to ue jointly. Repaynifnt is scheduled sched-uled for periods of from one to five years, at 3 to " per cent interest. in-terest. According to Mr. Dunkley the distinctive feature of all FSA loans is that they are made on the basis of character. The borrower's ex- ' perience, initiative and willingness to work out sound plans for future operations arc considered in determining- his eligibility for a loan. "We cannot lend to farmers who find other doors to adequate credit still open to them," the FSA supervisor said. "Consequently those who com,? to us for help would generally be considered p.jor credit risks by regular business standards. "The fact is, cur borrowers are not only raising their incomes, net worth and living standards, but making a pood repayment record rec-ord as well."
