Boyle. Mr. and Mrs. Horace Bean of Pleasant View pave the lovely affair for their daughter and son-in-law, who were married in the Salt Pake temple Monday, by President Stephen Ste-phen L. Chipman. Birdie Boyer was toastmistress and Jean Stoddard, Gladys DiXon and Carol Oaks explained in their toasts th course of a river as it flows to the sea, as White Key girls gaining their goals achievement through service. ot Lois Jensen sang "By the Bent of the River," and Maxme Taylor played a violin arrangement of "Deep River," accompanied by Amy Cox. Interesting table enter-pieces featured .sea gardens, with seaweed sea-weed and nasturtiums and dainty pastel rocks and shells. Sea.shell place markers matched the invitations invita-tions to the Scashell Inn., to complete com-plete the theme. Later in the evening, at the home of Gloria Tanner, the pledgets pledg-ets became active White Keys in an impressive ceremony. Phyllis Smart of Springville, president, conducted. assisted by Melba Clark, secretary. The girls were presented with their official uniforms, which they will wear when the White Keys enter the football field Friday night to give a novelty demonstra tion at the game with the University Univer-sity of Wyoming. Miss Helen Holbrook. president of the White Key alumnae, and Miss Florence Stevens, former White Key president, were among those in attendance. Little Folks At Party Mrs. Howard Gihby entertained IS girls and boys Tuesday afternoon after-noon from Z to G in honor of her small daughter, Joyce Ann Gibby, for her fourth anniversary. Hallowe'en used. decorations were The table had a Hallowe'en cloth and napkins to match. A large birthday cake was used for a centerpiece for the table and small birthday cakes with lighted candles were at each place. Hallowe'en Hal-lowe'en refreshments were served. The bride-to-be is a graduate of the Lincoln high school and seminary, and Mr. Clark is a graduate grad-uate of the Pleasant Grove high school. He has attended the B.Y.U. Couple Married In Salt Lake The marriage of Miss Elfie Hansen, daughter of Mr. and Mrs. Hag-en Hansen of Lehi, to Ross A. Goodrich of Seattle, Washington, was solemnized at the home of the bride's brother, Mr. and Mrs. Basil Hansen of Salt Lake City, Saturday, with Earl J. Glade performing the ceremony in the presence of close relatives and friends of 'the young couple. f The bride wore a white bridal net gown with a fingertip veil held in place by a coronet of -seed pearls and carried a bouquet bou-quet of gardenias. A wedding supper was held at the gold room of the Hotel Utah following the ceremony. The young couple will spend their honeymoon at Sun Valley, Idaho, and will make their home in Seattle, Washington. Les Amies Club Entertained "Seven-Up" was the diversion at the Les Amies club party given by Mrs. LaRue Anderson at her florae Wednesday evening. Prizes went to Mrs. Leila Larson Lar-son and Mrs. Dorothy Jackson. A delicious luncheon was served. Mrs. Miriam Christiansen was welcomed into the club. Fall leaves and flowers made the tables attractive, and memory books were give l as favors. The Relief society refreshment committee com-mittee was in charge of the banquet, ban-quet, under the supervision of the presidency, and the Junior M. I. A girls attended to the .serving. Mrs. Elmer Madsen welcomed the large crowd and grace was offered by Mrs. A. "Will Jones. During dinner, beautiful string music was played by a quartet from the Provo high school, under un-der direction of Junior iunnells. After the banquet, a program was presented in the chapel, during dur-ing which a tribute to the daughters daugh-ters was paid Mrs. Clarence El-lertson, El-lertson, and a tribute to the mothers moth-ers by Ruby LeDuc. A trio, composed com-posed of Mrs. Fawn Taylor, Mrs. Lucille Booke and Mrs. Lawana Wright sang. Out of a "Book of Memories," the life of Matie Peay, 90, oldest mother of the ward, was presented present-ed in pageant, under the direction direc-tion of Mrs. Agnes F. Hawkins and Mrs. Mary Moyle. Miss Rene Mortensen gave a reading, and unusual music entertainment by the Weaver family delighted the large crowd. Orlo Allen in Orem, was the scene of a de lightful afternoon affair Wednesday, Wednes-day, when the Beta Sorosis club entertained for the Utah Sorosis member s. Assisting Mrs. Allen were Mrs. Carlton Culmsee and Mrs. Arthur Gallup, and the president. Mrs. Lee Snarr, welcomed the members and guests. A profusion of exquisite ex-quisite roses and gladioli were combined to decorate the entertaining enter-taining rooms. A new member, Mrs. O. Meredith Mere-dith Wilson, was welcomed into the Beta Sorosis. Mrs. Karl Young gave a brief resume of "Naturalism in the Contemporary Con-temporary American Novel,'' and Mrs. Anurew Broaddus reviewed "Poor White," by Sherwood Anderson, An-derson, which represented the naturalistic trend in the novel. Mrs. Marvin Gease favored with a piano selection, arid Mrs. Byron Dastrup sang, accompanied by Mrs. Gease. A tastefully arranged two-course two-course luncheon was served, the trays being attractive with dainty organdy napkins in the pastel shades, and roses, which were given as lavois.
