J . j Mrs. John Kay Flygare (Shari Cook) Flygare-Cook Marriage Held A lovely reception In honor of newlyweds Mr. and Mrs. John Kay Flygare (Snarl Cook) was held Friday evening In the Orem 23rd Ward hall following their marriage earlier in the day in the Salt Lake LDS Temple. Parents of the couple are Mr. and Mrs. Rulon F. Cook and Mr. and Mrs. John W. Flygare, all of Orem. The bride wore a gown of taffeta covered with imported ChantUly lace with attached train. The empire waistline was decorated decor-ated with drop pearls and sequins. se-quins. Her veil of illusion fell from a petaled crown of pearls and sequins, and she carried a bouquet of split carnations centered cen-tered with orchids. Gayle Cook, sister of the bride was maid of honor and Lorraine Muir, Kathy Harding and Mary Thornton were bridesmaids. The bridesmaids wore gowns of dottedwhippedcream in lavender laven-der shades and carried bouquets of carnations. "Dale WaUace was best man, and Mr. andMrs.DeWayneCord-ner andMrs.DeWayneCord-ner greeted guests at the door. The color scheme was lavender laven-der and pink shades. Marlene Matheson, Kathy Hard ing, Lorraine Muir, Mary Thornton Thorn-ton and CherieSkowron were hostesses hos-tesses at pre-nuptial parties for the bride. . For a short honeymoon trip, the bride wore a suit of beige and green with beige and brown accessories. The couple will live In Orem while the groom continues his studies at Brigham Young University. Stella Oaks, well known In Utah County, spotlighted the evening by reviewing the book intitled "Tender Apples by Ora Pate Stewart. She was Introduced by the Club's Program Chairman, Mrs. Willis Hepworth. The story told of the life of Ettie Lee, well known foundress of seventeen boys' homes in different dif-ferent parts of the country, one of which Is located in Mapleton. She described Ettie Lee's life as a child ina pioneer family, her teaching and helping misguided boys. She told how the boys live as a family group, addressing the heads of each family as mother and dad. Each household has not more than eight boys. Light refreshments were served serv-ed to seventeen club members an a guest, Dlni Hansma, who was Introduced as coming from the Netherlands. Club officers had a short business bus-iness meeting after the regular meeting to make plans for the Mothers Day program, which will be sometime in May.
