Marketing director Craig Badami told the Newspaper that prior to the Alpine Meadows management takeover take-over the Resort "never bought much in the way of television advertising." ; PCSC purchased eight 60-secpnd television spots ' last season, Badami said. The ads; utilized slides to "hit people with the facts about buying season passes." 0f all the advertising media, television is the most captivating,' the marketing director observed while revealing re-vealing plans for the increased increas-ed television exposure for -Park City. , The upcoming ads will use action film clips to "show people what we are," Badami said. ' "For the first on television, we can show action right before the ski season when everyone is anxious to ski." Citing changes and improvements im-provements which have occured on the mountain and in the town, Badami explained, explain-ed, "We're coming on as a new Park City." One of the 30-second commercials com-mercials exclusively features Jupiter Bowl which will be opened for the first time this season. The commercials will be seen only in Utah. There will be other spots, the marketing director added. But he noted that availabilities "are tough" and he was unable to purchase some of the programs pro-grams he desired. On the list for possible spots are "Colombo," "McCloud" and "Policewoman." A 60-second commercial and two 30-second spots will be shown repeatedly over a three week period but Badami said he is unable to pinpoint the exact days since he bought "weeks", and not specific dates. The one exception is the "Happy Days" spot which will be aired on Nov. 1. Most of the ads will be viewed on Channel 2 with some on Channel 4. Though the ads are geared to sell season passes, Badami thinks they will also entice day skiers. Even if viewers do not buy the passes, they will see Park City and be more, inclined to visit, he reasoned. t "It is important to make people aware of what we're doing up here," he said. . Don Hutchison Don Hutchinson, of Summit County Title, reiterated re-iterated a previous request that the council reconsider the HR1 zoning on a piece of property he owns behind the Utah Coal and Lumber Restaurant. Hutchinson, who wants to see the property zoned commercial told the council, "That peice of land is an island surrounded surround-ed by commercial property." The council declined to take any action on the request. J.J. Johnson . Prior to the council's vote, Engineer Jack Johnson, who works, for many local developers said,"We need a new ordinance.
