Harry Martin had a garage on South 100 West and Bill Martin had a service station and garage a the location, now occupied of oS ebruary aimed ninely-six i aft six o clock in the evening ae f . . . by the S.M.R. building. Bill also sold new and used cars. It didn't matter what kind you wanted, he could come up with it. One time about the fourteenth Milford Senior Citizens Center Open Aeusnton ) t to fo Law 1926 he had a new but unknown automobile named the "Star". It didn't appear to be anything out of the ordinary. It had a long hood and a powerful motor. Those that test drove it said that the springs were so firm that it rode . like a wagon. The frame was so rigid that a wheel could be removed and it wouldn't tip. One day Bill made the wild op es d, . Test Hill then was at the north end of the Library hill and next to where the Masonic Hall is now located. There.were no trees then and it was a hill of loose gravel. Many tried to go up it and it was pocked with holes where wheels had thrown out the gravel. I was not present when the trial occurred but it did happen! It was talked about for years. The front wheel was removed, the driver revved up the motor. It bounced and bucked and threw gravel all of the way up the hill, but out of the cloud of dust at 200 West, emerged the three wheeled Star! Bill could have made any claim after that and he would have been believed.
