Show MAGNA TIMES, MAGNA, UTAH Thursday, April 29, 1965 Sooners Win Keg Title; League Elects Officers The Sooners, who finished just out of the money during the first half of action in the Hercules Mens Bowling League and who looked like they might not even do as well during the early part of the second half, put on a late drive and netted themselves the second-hal- f championship Monday. The strong finish gave them a bulge over the second-plac- e Igniters and a group called simply 'the Bowling Team. It also pushed them into a playoff for the league title next Monday against the Sandbaggers, the first-ha- lf finchamps, who managed only a 14th-plac- e ish in the league during the final half of play. Captain of the Sooner team is Jerry Vincent. Members include Dick Kubota, Hal Krohn, Gene Jacobsen, George Maier, Jim Herrold and Gene Prock. HUNTER THIRD WARD Lake Ridge Pupils Contribute for Library SHOW ATTRACTS National Library Week, April 25th to May 1, was observed by the Lake Ridge elementary school students and their teachers by contributions to buy new books for the school library. Sealed cans were placed in each room and the students put in their spare change. The PTA will match the total for the school and books will be purchased from the moneys.
