Olsen whose home is in Evanston, went into Salt Lake the other day and after a short time picked up with three Italians. One of them finally told Olsen a story of ' a rich uncle that had died and left his fortune to be , distributed among charitably inclined people and he suggested that Olsen being of that sort should have a share in It wras necessary, however, that the beneficiaries should furnish proof of their financial responsibility as the donor did not want bums to get hold of his wealth. Olsen fell for the story and in order to prove that he was not an idler, he telegf aph ed to his bank at Evanston to forward to Salt Lake $4,900 which he had on deposit there. The bank did so by telegraph and as soon as the money was available in Salt Lake Olsen drew it out and started to meet his three friends. But banks have a way of looking after the interests of their patrons and so, suspecting that all was not right the Salt Lake bank notified the police and two detectives followed Olsen when he started out. He located his three pals and was engaged in conversation with them whea the detectives intervened and showed the unsuspecting Evanston man just how he was to have been fleeced. The three Italians were arrested and on them was found the phoney roll with which Olsen would have been tricked cut of his money.
