Hyde, Secretary of the Department of Agriculture. Mr. Bransten has served on this Board at different times since 1911. The duties of this Board are to establish standards of quality below which no tea can be imported into the United States. This safeguards the public and gives them good tea. America is said to have the most rigid standards for tea imports in the World. Mr. Bransten says the American people have established their own taste in tea. They like tea with a delicate flavor The and a pleasing aroma. English people prefer a heavybodied tea known to the trade as thick liquor. The tea the American people drink is of a lighter character and imparts just the right amount of mild stimulation to make it enjoyable. M.J.B.
