REFLECTIONS Contest winners at Lakeview Elementary School in Roy are (from left) Sheri Waddoups, first; Terri Granducci, second; and April Avitt, third, in the intermediate literature division., Central Davis Honors Top Scholars, Athletes LAYTON Outstanding scholars and athletes were given recognition as their three years at Central Davis Junior High drew to a close last week. At the annual awards assembly the top six scholars names and grade point average for the past three years were presented to the student body. They are; Angie Woodward, 3.74; Valerie Nelson, 3.74; Rina Shipley, 3.70; Cindy Flint, 3.67; Karen Boen, 3.65; and David Nation, 3.62. Outstanding artist was Teri Goede and Evelyn Stewart took top honors in journalism. The home economics winners were Karen Graham and Cindy Flint. The Noall Z. Tanner award was presented to Holly Blackwell. Runners up in order were: Valerie Nelson, TIM HEARNSBERGER was first prize winner, with Nicole Cummings, second, and Julie Schuenman, third, (from left) in the primary literature division of the Lakeview Elementary School Reflections Contest. The selection of the student to receive the Tanner Award is done by votes of the teachers at Central and is based on grades, overall sonality and extracurricular activities. The Outstanding Female Athlete Award was given to Liz Manis, and the Outstanding Male Athlete named was Jim Norton. Following a tradition of recognizing the outstanding students in the graudating classes of the elementary and junior high schools each year, the Kiwanis Club of Clearfield just completed presentations of Hope of America Awards to student selected for this award in all schools in the Davis district. The keynote in this years presentation was to challenge the fifth graders to demonstrate their citizenship, friendship, and leadership next year as an example to all other student body members in the elementary school system and to compete for the honor of the annual Kiwanis award.
