Several weeks since a lease for a period of ten years was secured se-cured from Mrs. Sandin on her property adjoining the Knell block on the south, but the fact was not made public, the company com-pany preferring to wait until definite plans for building could be completed. Immediately after securing the lease, instructions were given to r Jones & Fletcher, architects, to prepare plans, and these were completed and accepted about the 15th of the present month. Bids were immediately called for and after a number of contractors contract-ors had submitted proposals the jjjji4ii ' rectors decided to award the con- 'A tact to Jones & Fletcher, who drew the plans. k"T . The bid of the latter firm was ' ' the lowest submitted, and em braced every detail required of the bidders, including the ' time limit. Construction work - will begin immediately and the building is to be ready for 'oc-cupancry 'oc-cupancry before the fifteenth of January. A small frame building now occupies the ground, and a force of men will first raze this, after which construction of the r new building will be pushed . with all possible speed. The new building will be 32x50 feet, one story. A room 16x30 will be occupied by the post-office. post-office. Postmaster C. S.
